80) সূরা আবাসা (মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ), আয়াত সংখ্যা 42

	بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
	শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু।
	Ayahs:   | 1-15 | 16-30 | 31-42 |
	عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى	(1
	তিনি ভ্রূকুঞ্চিত করলেন এবং মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিলেন।
	(The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away,
	أَن جَاءهُ الْأَعْمَى	(2
	কারণ, তাঁর কাছে এক অন্ধ আগমন করল।
	Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. ’Abdullâh bin Umm-Maktûm, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs).
	وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّى	(3
	আপনি কি জানেন, সে হয়তো পরিশুদ্ধ হত,
	But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)?
	أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَى	(4
	অথবা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করতো এবং উপদেশ তার উপকার হত।
	Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him?
	أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَى	(5
	পরন্তু যে বেপরোয়া,
	As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient,
	فَأَنتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّى	(6
	আপনি তার চিন্তায় মশগুল।
	To him you attend;
	وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّى	(7
	সে শুদ্ধ না হলে আপনার কোন দোষ নেই।
	What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allâh).
	وَأَمَّا مَن جَاءكَ يَسْعَى	(8
	যে আপনার কাছে দৌড়ে আসলো
	But as to him who came to you running.
	وَهُوَ يَخْشَى	(9
	এমতাবস্থায় যে, সে ভয় করে,
	And is afraid (of Allâh and His Punishment),
	فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّى	(10
	আপনি তাকে অবজ্ঞা করলেন।
	Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another,
	كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ	(11
	কখনও এরূপ করবেন না, এটা উপদেশবানী।
	Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Qur’ân) are an admonition,
	فَمَن شَاء ذَكَرَهُ	(12
	অতএব, যে ইচ্ছা করবে, সে একে গ্রহণ করবে।
	So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it.
	فِي صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ	(13
	এটা লিখিত আছে সম্মানিত,
	(It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz).
	مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ	(14
	উচ্চ পবিত্র পত্রসমূহে,
	Exalted (in dignity), purified,
	بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ	(15
	লিপিকারের হস্তে,
	In the hands of scribes (angels).
